Its that time of the year again where residents from the Westbury Community flood the soccer grounds for the highly anticipated annual Steven Pienaar community tournament. Teams from all walks of life join the tournament in hopes of walking away the champions.

Steven Pienaar is a child of Westbury and it is here where he discovered his love and his passion for the beautiful game of soccer and every year he comes home to where it all began to host this tournament, this is his way of giving back to the community and hopefully pave the way for the next Steven Pienaars of Westbury. As a community we could not be more proud of this young legend as he has beat many odds growing up.

The Steven Pienaar tournament is very dear and close to the heart of the Westbury community but also attracts many spectators and participants from other communities such as Eldorado Park (Eldos), Riverlea, Ennerdale, to name a few.

Over the years I have attended the tournament and I've watched it grow and there is no doubt that it will continue growing. I always wanted a platform for the world to see this great deed being done by the great Steven Pienaar.

This past weekend there were a number of games being played on various soccer grounds spread out across Westbury so myself and my friend Martin Bouwers Took the opportunity to take some great photos of the weekends events.
